The Indiana District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration recognized several IBA members and associate members at its annual SBA Indiana Lender Awards.

Four IBA members were named top community banks by S&P Global Market Intelligence, and five made the list for publicly traded banks.

For the first time this year, three awards were given instead of two.

Premier Bank, Defiance, Ohio, was awarded for its efforts in financial literacy and education.

Kentland Bank was named 2024 Small-Business Lender of the Year by the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation.

Four IBA-member banks were honored by American Banker magazine as one of America’s Best Banks to Work For in 2024.

The Indiana Bankers Association created the Leaders in Banking Excellence Awards in 2018 to showcase exceptional individuals who have positively impacted Indiana banks and the communities they serve.

Alliance Bank, Francesville, won in the category of banks under $500 million in assets, and Horizon Bank, Michigan City, won in the category of $500 million and above.

For only the second time in IBA history, an Indiana banker is chairing a national trade association.

The two organizations became First Bank Midwest effective July 1, 2026.
