We have so much to celebrate about our past and anticipate with our future, it’s difficult to choose where to start. By the time you read this, Mega 2026 will be in the books including our recognition of Chris Bennett, our vice president of meetings & events for 35 years, upon her formal retirement from the Association. If you couldn’t join us to hear all the wonderful things her friends and colleagues from the IBA and the meetings industry had to say about her, you can read her Retirement Reflections in her own words on page 54 of this issue.
Our annual Member Benefits Report shows another successful year for the Association, including record-breaking attendance at Banking on Women, an 11% increase in Annual Convention attendance and a 5% increase in the number of bankers participating in one of our roundtables and forums. The charts below show how the IBA continues to spend relatively little on office management and administration. Special recognition goes to our associate members for supporting our events and programming at such a generous level that we have been able to hold IBA’s dues structure to be one of the lowest of any state bankers association in the nation.

Representatives from our Financial Services Academy apprenticeship program went to Switzerland to speak with representatives of the Swiss program that ours is modeled after. FSA welcomes its first cohort of students this fall, but the program is already growing. And Indiana welcomed its first de novo bank in two decades this April.
Be sure to look through the education calendar for opportunities to continue growing in your career alongside your fellow Hoosier bankers.
