Norman Locke passed away Dec. 26, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida. He was 84 years old.
Locke worked for First Merchants Bank, Muncie, for more than 50 years. He started as a janitor before being hired into banking operations. From there, he worked his way up until he led the bank’s branches in Pendleton and Liberty.
Locke graduated from Purdue University’s agriculture school and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was a member of the IBA’s 40 Year Club and was named Citizen of the Year by the Pendleton Lions Club in 1997.
A devoted father, husband and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, four children, stepdaughter and brother-in-law.
