Brian Avery, chief technology officer for STAR Bank, Fort Wayne, has been named one of Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly’s 40 Under 40 honorees.
He has been with the bank for 13 years, leading its technology strategy, digital banking and payments innovation, and information security. Among his accomplishments is balancing the modernization of the bank’s digital platforms with strong governance and risk management.
“Brian exemplifies the kind of thoughtful, forward-looking leadership that strengthens our organization and our community,” said Kristin Marcuccilli Green, president of STAR Financial Group. “He brings a rare combination of technical expertise, business insight, and integrity to his work, and his ability to guide teams with clarity and purpose has been instrumental to our continued growth.”
Outside the bank, Avery serves as an advisory member of Indiana’s Cybersecurity Council, Finance Committee co-chair for the Governor’s Executive Council on Cybersecurity, a board member for the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center, contributor to the Community Advisory Board for Northeast Indiana Public Radio, advisory roles with TechPoint and VMware, and as an active member of the Indiana chapter of InfraGard. Honorees for the magazine’s 40 Under 40 are selected by an independent panel of judges out of more than 200 nominations.
