Brad Cunningham, executive vice president & chief banking officer for The Farmers Bank, Frankfort, retired June 30, after a 47-year career in banking. That included more than 30 years with The Farmers Bank, including time as a retail lender, commercial lender, vice president of commercial lending, senior vice president of commercial lending and his final role as executive vice president, chief banking officer.
In his most recent role, Cunningham provided executive oversight for the bank’s commercial banking, retail banking, Treasury management, communications and business development functions. He also served on numerous management and governance committees that helped guide the bank’s strategic direction and long-term growth. Following his retirement, Cunningham will continue to serve as a member of the First Bank Midwest Advisory Committee.

The bank kept a life-size retirement card in the lobby of its Frankfort financial center from June 22-30 for members of the community to sign their well-wishes, and held a celebration in his honor on June 25.
Outside the bank, Cunningham held numerous volunteer leadership positions including with the Frankfort Kiwanis Club, Clinton County Economic Advancement Foundation, United Way of Clinton County, Frankfort Jaycees, Clinton County YMCA and the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the IBA’s 40 Year Club.
Cunningham earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
