The slate of candidates for Indiana Bankers Association officers is set for 2027. Elections will take place at the annual business meeting at the IBA Annual Convention this September in French Lick. New officers assume their positions Jan. 1, 2027, and serve one-year terms.
IBA’s Nominating Committee, chaired by immediate past chair Matthew W. Howrey, North Salem State Bank, has nominated the following officer candidates:
Chair: Lisa Arnold, Home Bank, Martinsville
First Vice Chair: Bradley J. Monts, Hoosier Heartland State Bank, Crawfordsville
Second Vice Chair: David A. Coffey, Mutual Savings Bank, Franklin
In addition to serving on the IBA Board of Directors, officers serve on the Association’s Executive Committee, along with the immediate past chair, two directors appointed by the incoming chair, and the Association’s president/CEO. The Executive Committee has the authority to act in lieu of the Board between regular board meetings.
Lisa Arnold
Lisa Arnold, candidate for chairman, is president and CEO of Home Bank, Martinsville. She joined the bank in 1985 and has served in positions including branch manager, vice president of retail banking, chief operations officer and, most recently, president and chief operating officer.
In addition to various community affiliations, Arnold is a trustee for the IBA Group Insurance Trust and was appointed to the Indiana Board of Depositories in 2024. She is a former member of the Franklin College Alumni Council and a past president of the Indiana Bankers Association Future Leadership Division.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Franklin College and an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. Arnold also is a graduate of the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the ABA National Commercial Lending School.
Bradley J. Monts
Brad Monts, candidate for first vice chair, is president and CEO of Hoosier Heartland State Bank, Crawfordsville. He joined the bank in 1990 and has held positions as branch manager, loan officer, senior vice president, operations manager, CFO, COO and, currently, president/CEO.
Monts is an active leader for many local community organizations. He serves as treasurer of the Montgomery County Education Foundation, president of Indiana West Advantage and a member of the Montgomery County Redevelopment Commission. Monts is also a member of the Ladoga Lions Club, Montgomery County Health & Wellness Center Board, the Independent Community Bankers of America’s Cyber and Data Security Subcommittee and the Montgomery County Community Council.
Monts earned a bachelor’s degree from Franklin College and has completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
David A. Coffey
Dave Coffey is president and CEO of Mutual Savings Bank, Franklin. He started his banking career as a management trainee with Union Federal Savings Bank in 1986. Following nearly nine years of service, Coffey joined Home Federal Savings Bank as a vice president and branch administrator. In 1998, Coffey joined Mutual Savings Bank serving initially as senior vice president and chief operating officer. He was later elevated to executive vice president and also served as chief financial officer before being named president and CEO on Jan. 1, 2018. Coffey has served on the board of directors for Mutual Savings Bank since 1999 and its holding company, Third Century Bancorp, since its founding in 2004.
Coffey is active in the bank’s market area. He is a member of Franklin Rotary and Franklin Elks. Coffey also serves on the board of Aspire Economic Development and Chamber Alliance. During his career in banking he has served the IBA on various committees and ABA’s Community Bank Council.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Franklin College. Coffey also is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Other directors the Nominating Committee has put forth for the 2027-28 board:
- Non-Indiana-Headquartered Banks: Karen Woods, First Financial Bank, Cincinnati, is wrapping up her first term in this position and has been nominated for a second three-year term.
- At-Large: Nicole S. Lorch, First Internet Bank, Fishers, is finishing out a partial term after she was appointed to the position to fill a vacancy. She has been nominated to her first full term on the Board.
- South Region, mid-sized banks: This position is being vacated by Dave Coffey as he moves into the chairs, pending election at the Annual Business Meeting. His term was wrapping up at the end of the year, making this an open position requiring election. The Nominating Committee has put forth Sydney Whitlock, NWSB, Charlestown, for a full three-year term from Jan. 1, 2027-Dec. 31, 2029.
- South Region, small banks: Eric Lane, First Federal Savings Bank of Washington, is wrapping up his first term in this position. He has been nominated to a second three-year term.
